Are you ready to make a difference in your community?
We are a diversified, vibrant, responsive and community-oriented club, and we have fun! Rotary is all about service, both locally and worldwide.  Your skills and enthusiasm are needed to make good things happen.  Below is a list of annual events the Owego Rotary hosts or participates in. To learn more, email contact@owegorotary.org.

Spring Tea for Residents - Join us with your crafting skills to create spring flower bouquets and cheerful cards for the residents at the local healthcare center.  On the day, help serve refreshments and bring smiles and good cheer to residents, their families and the staff!

Adopt a Highway Road Cleanup.  Put on your boots and work gloves and come help collect the trash (and occasionally treasure!) along our stretch of Rt. 434 in spring and autumn. Believe it or not, it’s fun!

Canawanna Nature Preserve Plant and Bird ID walks. Don’t miss these informative walks if you are a nature lover! Led by local naturalists, these events are great opportunities to learn more about our environment and experience the plant and animal habitats  thriving at Rotary's Nature Preserve!

Annual Strawberry Festival. This is the crown jewel event for our small town that happens the third weekend of June. Rotarians serve strawberry shortcakes at the Club's booth, work at the kids games tent, walk in the Strawberry Parade, or help monitor the 5K run (or compete on our team!). It is a great time for all!

Dicks’ Golf Open. Join us under the concession tent while Rotarians and volunteers from other service organizations work together to serve food and beverages to golfers and attendees at this hugely popular event hosted by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Sundaes at the Farm. Hosted by a different farm each year, this summertime event draws hundreds of visitors to a day of educational displays, live music and (as the name suggests) free ice cream.  Help at the Rotary tent to prepare and serve snacks, foods and beverages to the visitors and volunteers.

Food Drives - Add to the Rotary collection of much-needed non-perishable foods to be donated to local food pantries.  Your donations will always be welcomed to help those in need.  Food drives are held in spring and fall.

Springtime Egg Hunt - Be part of the fun for children at the egg hunt and no cost games day sponsored by Catholic Charities Tioga. Enjoy helping kids play fun games at no cost and hand out small prizes at the Rotary booth.

Ice Cream Social - Ice cream in the summertime is a tradition at the local nursing home.  Each August residents, their families and guests gather on the lawn alongside the beautiful Susquehanna River to enjoy an afternoon of music, relaxation and treats. Join Rotarians to take food and beverage orders, create delicious sundaes made to order and serve the happy crowd.

Lights on the River - Owego's family-friendly holiday season celebration with dazzling lights, entertainment, food and fireworks is a wintertime tradition.  Join Rotarians and high school Interact Club students to serve free cider to warm the visitors and add to the holiday spirit.
