Exchange Students (2004-2005)

Leslie-Morgan Frederick, of Apalachin, has been chosen by the Owego Rotary Club and the Rotary District 7170, to be an exchange student to Japan during the school year of 2004/2005. Leslie will depart in late August of 2004 and will return to Apalachin in June or July of 2005.

Leslie was born on November 9, 19987 and will have graduated from Owego Free Academy before she departs for Japan. She is very active in community and school activities (SADD, SEAS, Yorkers, Gaming and Interact). She has studied martial arts for many years and enjoys learning more about this mentally and physically challenging sport.

Leslie chose to be a Rotary Exchange Student because of her desire to bring different countries and cultures closer together in understanding. She is also hoping to make lifelong friendships with the people of Japan. Leslie has a strong desire to use this experience to learn a foreign language that could potentially help her in securing a job that will include international travel.

Leslie is an open minded individual with a charismatic personality. She loves people and learning.
