Exchange Students (2004-2005)

Joleen Butterfield, of Candor, has been chosen by the Owego Rotary Club and the Rotary District 7170, to be an exchange student to Brazil during the school year of 2004/2005. Joleen will depart in late August of 2004 and will return to Candor in June or July of 2005.

Joleen was born on October 31, 1986. She will be a graduate from Candor Central High School when she leaves for Brazil. Her involvement at school includes Honors Society, Varsity Cross Country Team, Senior High Band, Varsity Basketball Cheerleading, Student Council and the school's drama club.

Joleen chose to be a Rotary Exchange Student because she would like to gain a better understanding of the world by experiencing another culture. She is also looking forward to the opportunity to let others know more about Americans.

Joleen is an outgoing, happy and persistent person. She is open to new experiences.
